English Language Arts Program

 

  • Four language stages for learners of varied levels.
  • Structured instruction for a solid understanding of both the English language and world cultures
  • Three days a week - 70 mininutes each class
  • Native English teacher focuses on teaching speaking, listening and writing.(2days)
  • The Korean teacher focuses on teaching phonics, grammar and reading.(1day)
  • All classes promote motivated learning in a safe, engaging classroom utilizing modern teaching tools and media.

 

 Foundation Stage

This program is intended for those students who are new to studying English. Classes in this program are focused on basic skills like alphabet awareness, early phonics, letter printing and pronunciation. The materials for this program are carefully selected by the instructors to both meet the students ability and capture their interests. The formative years of learning English are among the most important and this program is intended to make their first steps the right ones. 

 

Bridge Stage

For many students, the contents of advanced programs are still too challenging. Our Bridge program is designed to increase their English skills via upper-level phonics, leveled readers, journal writing and themed activities. Class discussions and speaking activities are also a features that will prepare them for more advanced lessons.

 

CIS Language Arts Stage

This program is intended for those students who have a strong background in English but are still building their English skills. The goal of the program is to develop fluency in all aspects of English. Students read various stories and articles in every chapter and are presented with authentic writing assignments. 

 

Global Stage

The Global Program is intended for those students who possess a high level of motivation and proficiency in English. To develop strong speaking and listening skills, student-led presentations and lively debates are key features of this program.  Furthermore, essay writing and acquiring high-level vocabulary are a focus of the Global program.
